A large number of cars turned up to Mossman’s first car and bike show (approx. 70 cars ) which made for a great day. Especially for George, Winning best Hot Rod and best V8, and Chris for best V6. Congratulations to you both. I for one am looking forward to next years!
Cairns First Inter Car Club Go-Kart Challenge was a great success. Will from the Fat Bastards Car Club taking home the Trophy for the fastest time of the day. The Fat Bastards also won the best combined time of the day. Congratulations to them. Special thanks to TEX from the Historic Car Club for the amazing trophy’s, and thanks to George for the cooking and the tool comp.
September meeting started with a poker run leaving from Maccas G/Vale winding through the local area and ending up at the Mountain View Hotel. Colin Chapman (ASRF Director) and wife Brenda were up from Brisbane to bring us up to date with ASRF business. Barry presented them with club shirts and a club plaque. Congratulations to Mark and Liz who won the poker run. That was then followed up with lunch. A good day had by all !

Congratulations to George for winning Best Hot Rod and Phil for Best Original, with his 1939 Dodge . 
The weather Gods were on our side, which got the day off to a good start. Some of us bought stuff, some sold stuff, and congratulations to Tony, Allan and George who all won trophy’s. We had our meeting then lunch, so it all made for a great day.
Chris and Marilyn Joined in with us for the day and won a trophy.
It was a good day at the ALL FORD DAY at Hansen Ford Dealership in Mareeba, although it meant an early start in the middle of winter, it wasn`t to bad seeing that we live in Cairns.

There was a good turn out of people and cars for the 2017 Independence Day Cruise. We all meet at the DFO car park, and after a good social get together we headed into town, did a couple of laps then headed to Zarraffa`s for coffee etc. A good nite had by all concerned, already looking forward to next year.
It was wet but that didn’t stop us.

Top of the State Car Club, was pleased to hand over a cheque for $4000.00 to the Gordonvale Men’s Shed. The money helped in the construction of the shed in the photo.
